Description
Held every October in the city of Matsuyama on the island of Shikoku, Japan's Dogo Autumn Festival is one of the most violent religious festivals in the world. Eight fearsome teams lift massive wood shrines (that can weigh up to a ton) and rush headlong into each other, colliding in holy battle.

Employing stunning camerawork and sound, Uzu immerses us in this mystic ritual, as fascinating as it is terrifying, from its ceremonious preparations to the bloody chaos after the collision. Something akin to war reporting, Uzu is a thrilling ride into the festival's heart and a rare window into its meaning.
