Description
When Lucy was eight years old, she was abused by a man. It lasted until she was twelve. Now, a mother of two boys, driven by a powerful instinct for survival and freedom, Lucie decides to write a letter to this man. She then takes her camera, her car, and resolves to bring him this letter in person. The purpose: to give back to her aggressor the shame and pain she wrongly held within for all theses years.
A Woman and Her Car was started by Lucie, but finished by her son, Loic, when he discovered the video tape of her journey ten years later. An award-winning short documentary, it is a heartbreaking and poetic work – particularly as it reaches its final, climactic moment.

Reviews
“Highly recommended. A thoughtfully constructed introspective film that flows like a poem. The road Lucie travels to extinguish her demons is moving and is likely to inspire conversations in women’s studies, psychology, or gender studies classrooms. It would be a wonderful addition to any academic library and is strongly recommended for all collections. “
