City Child
Description
City Child is a feature flm set in Berlin, Germany. Scenes of daily life—movements, conversations, gestures —are perforated by images of construction—concrete casting, ribbing, half-fnished walls and foors. These spaces in fux frame a cast of actors immersed in states between performance and being. They meet one another, take a walk in the park, spend time alone, eat and sleep. Time passes and the construction grows; shadows stretch out and the light turns blue.
In this twilight, an image emerges that is both constructed and found. Through the cracks and crevices of its fractured narrative, it seeks access to the energies and events that come to bear upon the everyday. Its methodic structure and rythyms highlight parallels between the built environment and its inhabitants, laying the framework for a meditation on form and fuidity.
Principal photography began during the summer of 2020 with a cast that includes Franziska Aigner, Lena Lauzemis and Pascal Flamme. Brussels- based SKY H1 will compose an original score for the flm. City Child is presented by Beechvibes and Superhero Latina Entertainment in co- production with Berlin-based Arden Film.
